Clemson

Hi! My name is Clemson. I am 2 years old, about 60 lbs and everyone’s best guess is that I am a Black Mouth Curr mix, I am predominantly tan with black and white markings. I’ve overheard people say that I am “gorgeous.” Why, “Thank you!”

I was found running around a park in West Palm Beach in July of 2023. Since I didn’t have a microchip, my previous owners were never found. I was taken to Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. As you can imagine, this was all very stressful for me.

I sat there, four long months, wondering what happened to me. I wasn’t used to being kept in an isolated kennel hours on end, with little to no interaction with anyone. I began to get more agitated. I was taken out of play groups and kept in the back room. I get it, in an overcrowded shelter, what were my options? What I needed more anything, was to be with others and that was taken away from me. I overheard a volunteer say that I was getting “stressed.’ That’s true, I was stressed.

In late November, I was approaching my deadline (and yes, it’s what you think it is)…..the Rescue Warriors knew what a good boy I am and they started urgent posts, asking, actually begging for a rescue to pull me before it was too late. A kind person saw my information and immediately offered to foster /adopt me in order to save me, but sadly, she was denied because I needed a “rescue pull….” So, on the very last day of my “extension,” with mere hours to go, a rescue stepped up and agreed to tag and pull me. How lucky was that?! After months of me getting no breaks, I got the biggest one ever- a second chance!

Miss Danielle and her children picked me up on a Sunday morning ! They took me to Jake’s Pet Supply and bought me a new collar. I went to their foster home full of squeaky toys, soft places to sleep, treats to eat and delicious food. Most importantly, I was filled with their love. I am giving it back to them too! They are fully committed to getting me the best home ever.

I have lots of energy on walks and in the back yard, and of course, I love to play, but once it’s time to snuggle, I’m all in. If you want a walking buddy and a spooning partner, I’m your man! My energy level could best be described as, “Bouncy outdoors, chill indoors.”

I get along with dogs and especially love my next door neighbor, River. She and I have a great time playing together. I am super playful, but need patience and some work on recognizing boundaries. And I absolutely love, love, love kids. I walk fairly well on my leash, know some basic commands and just really want to be with my people. The rescue contracted Oscar to help me become a better mannered boy. Oscar says that I am such a smart boy. Why, “Thank you!”

If anyone reading this is interested in me (and I hope there is that someone out there!), please contact X-Port Paws, my pulling rescue and we can set up a Meet and Greet. After months of being abandoned and stuck in a small kennel, all I want is to be loved and to give love. Miss Danielle says the I am the “perfect boy.” Could I be your perfect boy…?
